ACAP VOLUNTEERING
    

SONIA Online is the Student Placement Management System for ACAP Discipline of Counselling students. All volunteering information and documentation can be found in Sonia.


Note to all students: Please ensure you regularly check your ACAP email account, as the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Team will only communicate with you via this email. Ensure you click onto ‘ACAP Volunteering’ not ‘ACAP Counselling’ on the previous discipline log in screen.

Login Details:

  • Username: ACAP Student email address (e.g. 123456@my.acap.edu.au)
  • Password: Same password used for the Student Portal

  Pre-volunteering instructions and information:

Important: Volunteering must be approved by ACAP before commencement.


 

The WIL portal is your main source of information and resources for pre-placement preparation. It contains important guidance, information and resources to help you get ready for your social work placement.

Once you have started your placement, the Moodle class space will be your central learning space for placement-related information and activities. It provides access to unit requirements, assessment information, placement activities and other resources to support you throughout your placement.
  • Use the checklist and FAQs (to the left) to work out if your volunteering experience will be suitable.
  • Once logged in, click on the 'Volunteering Instructions' tab in the menu bar above, then the red 'Details' button.
  • Read through the volunteering requirements and the step-by-step instructions provided.
  • Upload your Police Check in the ‘Documents’ tab above.
  • Search for and secure your volunteering opportunity.
  • Once you have secured an opportunity, complete ‘Section A’ of the ‘Volunteering Confirmation & Completion’ form found in the ‘Forms’ tab above.

 Completion of volunteering instructions:

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure all forms are submitted on time. Read and follow all instructions and steps carefully to avoid unnecessary delays later

  • Log your volunteering hours in the Timesheet provided in the ‘Volunteering Instructions’ tab above                                                          
  • Full details and instructions are provided in the ‘Volunteering Instructions’ tab above.                                     
  • Upload your signed Timesheets into the ‘Documents’ tab above
  • Complete Section B of the ‘Volunteering Confirmation & Completion’ form found in the ‘Forms’ tab above
